POETRY: Who Are You?
Alexandra Rodriguez
Chicago, IL

Look at me, who do you see?
When I look at you I see another me but I’m younger
Who are you?
Did you live my life?
Were you in my shoes?
You’re my mother, aren’t you?
You’re the only one who couldn’t take care of me
But you call yourself my mother.
Where is my father?
Is he a low-life too?
Where is he, I say.
I waited for this day.
I don’t know how your life is
But I know how’s mine.
And I got one question
Why?
