POETRY: A Poem for Who…?
Are you who you say you are
The person you see yourself to be?
How do you know you’re not like the others?
How do we know you don’t hide behind a mask we can’t see?
To become something you’re not
Or maybe to not become something.
Are you who you say you are?
Stop crying and wipe your tears,
Everyone goes through the things we fear.
Banish all who exist to harm you,
Banish all who make you look like a fool.
We don’t think you’re a fool,
Nor do we want to harm you.
We can see behind the mask no man can see
We can help you be who you want to be.
Are you questioning our existence?
Or maybe this poem?
To find the answer to this and more,
Find out who are “we.”
This, my dear friend, is the key.
